Kate + Korey : Safety Harbor Neighborhood Engagement

I met Kate and Korey a few years ago through mutual friends and have bonded through the topic of photography and interesting gatherings — oh, like battery shopping together during hurricane season one year, volleyball and pool, and Tampa’s infamous Gasparilla drunken event.  Their cute maltese, Daisy even had a playdate with Alfie when he was a puppy.  I was so excited to hear that they got engaged and couldn’t wait to meet up in their cozy neighborhood for portraits.

The weather was humid and gloomy all day and the possibility of rain loomed over us.  Typical Florida summer, of course.  Thankfully, instead of rain, we had beautiful soft light and a few moments of sunshine when the clouds parted.  I love how much thought was put into their engagement session, and couldn’t have asked for better athleticism at the end of the shoot.  In my world, water balloon fighting IS a sport!  That’s how Korey got his muscles, duh!

I love how Korey doesn’t care about me because he’s too busy adoring his wife-to-be.  Sigh, love can do this to a grown man =)
