Our story of fate is quirky and memorable.  I met Jen and John at JFK airport while flying home a couple years ago.  We were sitting by the gate waiting to board our homebound flight.  I’d left my laptop charger in my check-in luggage and my Mac was about to die.  Without realizing the ambiguity of the words that were about to exit my mouth, I approached them and asked, “Are you an apple?”.  What I really meant, and Jen assured that I clarified, was “are you an Apple?… my laptop died”.  Next thing I knew, I’d forgotten all about my dead laptop and started conversing with them and another traveler who offered to play his guitar for us.  And Jen, yes, he did play for US.

On the flight that evening, Jen and John had separate seats and I ended up sitting next to one of them.  I instinctively offered to swap seats so they could sit together.  Because really, which couple doesn’t want to sit together?

Fast forward a year, I received an email from Jen introducing me to her best friend Carly who’s getting married.  I met Carly over coffee, then met her fiance Stephen, shot their adorable engagement and documented their St. Leo wedding.  Whew!

Up until this session, all my memories of Jen and John were from our brief meeting at JFK and Carly + Stephen’s wedding.

It was my absolute pleasure to finally spend a cozy afternoon/evening with these two at their home.  They’ve been married for a few years already and were well accustomed to the married life.  My mission was simple: to document their casual but stylish lifestyle for their future kiddies.  I was welcomed into their home adorned with lovely atmosphere, a cute dog named Schmoopy, and whimsical details.  Jen writes for the ever fabulous Fab*Blog style blog, and needless to say her taste doesn’t disappoint.

At the end of the evening, Jen and John turned on the stove and MADE ME DINNER.  How awesome are they?!

I approve anyone who has a Kate Spade obsession..
