Love like theirs is rare, more so because they are rare individuals whose natural beautiful and genuine kindness emit from the inside out.  Their happiness is infectious.  The way they look at each other, the way they smile at each other, it is a treat for anyone who observes, let alone a photographer who is obsessed with capturing life and love.  Love like theirs makes me tingle a little, smile like it’s my first shoot all over again, and nervous because I have the privilege of making their memories.

People always ask if I still get nervous before shoots.  Yes…yes a thousand times.  Yes because feeling nervous is confirmation of my enthusiasm, anticipation, curiousity, and an open mind to learn about myself, my passion, and those I photograph at any given moment.  I’m just glad that I have the rest of my life to feel this way, to feel nervous and giddy because I am doing what I love.

As for Marita and Melvin, they will have the rest of their life to feel this way about each other: nervous, giddy, and totally in love.
