Revisiting a Time : USF Botanical Garden
|
These are dated May 2007. There was a time before I graduated when I used to conveniently visit the botanical garden on campus. I’d go there at least once every two weeks. During finals, I would go there in between exams instead of study. The campus botanical garden is small, and I know the staff who work there really did try to keep it up. At first glance, you would not be impressed. But for me, I have seen the beautiful transitions and life cycle of this sacred oasis from one season to the next my last two years of college. I sought the missed details that stood to live their course even when everything around were dying. This was a metaphor of life. I have learned a lot about life because I visited this place, year in, year out. We have decades to live one life, but they only have a season. But even for just a season, the flowers would bloom their brightest, the leaves would flourish to be their greenest. They have no one to impress. They are beautiful by nature. Sometimes, I think we overlook what mother nature can teach us. I am planning on revisiting soon. In the next weeks, I’m going to revive some archives from my botanical garden visits. They remind me that I’ve come a long, long way. |

Beautifully written, Angel…. and of course, beautiful photos. :o)
:) That garden was like my sanctuary back in USF days. I totally understand the simplicity and yet the endless beauty that place brings.
It is all together magical there.. :)
I scheduled a shoot there tomorrow. Can’t wait to be surprised all over again..
